Deep Borehole Hand Well Pump
Aquasource Ltd, have just completed a deep well water borehole for the National Trust at Newton Farm, St Mawes, Cornwall to serve a new allotment development.
The location of the borehole ruled out the economical installation of an electrical pump and the depth of the water table meant that an ordinary well hand operated lift pump would not work.
After much research Aquasource sourced and installed a deep borehole hand well pump lifting from 23m depth in the 40m deep well.
The hand well pump is a type more usually installed in the remoter parts of Africa to supply clean water to villagers. The pump is capable of lifting water from up to 60m depth and is simple and economical to maintain as all parts of made from corrosion resistant materials such as plastic or stainless steel.
Aquasource has successfully installed a hand operated well pump for St Columb Allotment and is in the process of installing one for the Burlawn Allotment Association near Wadebridge.
