Drilling Ground Source Holes in St Mawes’ Sunshine
Drilling for a Ground Source project in St Mawes, Cornwall. Four holes to 135m depth with 40mm loops and geothermal grout.
As well as supplying and installing the Kensa range of Ground Source Heat Pumps Groundsource South West also carry out the drilling of Ground Source boreholes for other companies and private clients through out the South West of England.
We have a range of Ground Source rig options to suit all sites. If you think that your access is too small or the area not large enough get us to come out and have a look. You would be surprised where we have managed to successfully drill ground source boreholes.
Of equal importance to the drilling are the groundworks involved in linking the boreholes together and manifolding them to take the heat back to the heat pump (Header Works).
Ground Source South West have trained teams of groundworkers who can carry out these works. All our underground joints are made using electrofusion welding to ensure the longlife of the system.
A range on manifolds are available both underground and over ground.
Our teams always strive to minimise any disruption and are experienced in the installation of underground pipework in difficult locations. In many cases we can use moling techniques to cross paths and tracks to minimise the excavation and disruption required.
For the installation of plain pipe systems we can also use our range of chain trenchers which will, in the right ground, quickly cut a 150mm to 200mm wide slot in the ground to lay the pipe in. This system is much quicker and less disruptive than traditional trenching techniques
